WELCOME TO PS144!

Our mission is to provide maximum educational opportunities for all children at P.S. 144 through an environment which nurtures children and families, maximizes opportunities for individual growth and encourages mutual involvement, responsibility and accountability of the school, home and community. As a school focusing on integrating arts and technology throughout our curriculum, we are dedicated to preparing youngsters for life in the 21st century through literacy, telecommunications, scientific investigations and social interactions enhanced by collaborations with museums and other cultural institutions. We will work with our partners to open doors to the world of the arts for our school community.

Queens Museum of Art, Center for Arts Education, New York State Council on the Arts, Queens Theatre in the Park, Empire State Partnership Grant with Queens Museum of Art that includes museum visits, visual arts and architecture residencies, Guggenheim Museum Learning Through Arts Program, Parents As Arts Partners (Center for Arts Education), NY City Center Programs – Encores and Your People’s Dance Series, Puppetry Residency.

• For emergencies and urgent issues, always call the main office at 718-268-2775.

• For non-emergencies, you have three options.

1. You can send a note to the teacher in your child's school folder.

2. You can call the office and leave a message for the teacher. She or he will call you back when they are available.

3. You can email some of the teachers with non-urgent issues. Those teachers provided their email addresses at Curriculum Night. If your teacher did not give out an email address, then the teacher prefers a note or a phone call.
