FOOD DRIVE
AT PS144
March 1 - March 14
A recent report cited from the Food Bank of
NYC reveals that 40 percent of New Yorkers, 3.3 million people,
are having difficulty affording food, a 60 percent increase
since 2003. At the same time NYC"s pantries and shelters are
experiencing critical emergency food shortages. As a result of
this urgent lack of food, the Parents' Association is holding a
food drive for two weeks.
Please bring
nonperishable,
unopened food and place it in the labeled storage bin in the
foyer of the school.
All food collected will be donated to
Our Lady of Mercy Food Pantry and the Briarwood Family Residence
Shelter and Pantry.
Thank you for your support and donations.
