MINUTES FROM MEETINGS
Minutes-Executive Board Meeting
March 16, 2009
Auction-An exit meeting will be planned
date to come. We would like to survey the parents for
feedback. We discussed the Orlando Villa that was donated but
not auctioned off. If we have someone that would like to bid on
it we will take the bid otherwise we will put the offer out on
the PA Ebay.
Marathon Fundraiser-There was a
discussion that the administration was thinking about hosting
the fundraiser. We voted, 6 yes to 4 no, that if the school
would allow the PA to be involved in the fundraiser that we
would move forward to put a proposal together.
Career Day-The PA will be hosting
the 20th Annual Career Day event. This year we held
an art contest. The winner was Maxwell Frankel. The artwork
will be put onto a bag. The cost of the bags are about 5.00
each. We voted to spend the additional funds. All present
voted yes.
Scholastic Book Fair- The last book
fair that the PA hosted was in 2003. We discussed concerns over
the length of time the book fair runs and also the location of
where the fair can be held. Lisa Brody is following up with
Scholastic. The book fair will be re-addressed over the summer.
Staples School Supply Kits- We
discussed several options that are available. Lisa Brody will
follow up with Reva to see if the teachers will be able to have
their lists ready early in the year to allow us to take
advantage of a possible 7-11% profit margin. There is no
minimum order to participate. The PA would need to commit to
signing a contract by October to receive maximum profits for the
following year. Lisa Brody will present follow-up information.
We reviewed our remaining events for the
year which include Career Day, Field Day, Plant Sale, Pasta
Night and Staff Appreciation.
We discussed putting together a survey for
the parent body to include school uniforms, school supply kits,
and the best way to receive information.
The meeting started at 6.10pm
The meeting ended at 7.05pm
