Meeting Minutes
September
21, 2009
7:00 p.m.
Welcome:
Co-Presidents Maria Cognata and Tricia Kampton welcomed parents
and introduced the officers of the Board
Budget:
Kim Ramazan, Treasurer, reviewed the budget. The following were
noted:

$72,000 was budgeted
for this year
·
Literacy line was
left at $0.00 until Administration proposes a program
·
PA and Administration
each put in $30,000 for residencies
·
$15,000 is going
toward LEAP science residency
·
Programs line was
decreased $4,000 to $1,500; there has been little time to plan
for programs
·
PA has allocated $2,700 for the 6th
grade class to help offset the cost of graduation; figure is
based on $30 per student
·
PA has allocated $2,400 for 5th
grade ($30 per student) should the entire 5th grade also be
graduating this year,
though there is no information to confirm whether or not 6th
grade will be leaving
Budget was
voted on and approved unanimously. The financial report is
available and anyone can contact Kim for information and
questions.
Residencies: Principal
Reva Gluck-Schneider thanked the membership for its support and
participation. Arts Coordinator Lois Olshan explained what
residencies are and how art in school is important to children’s
education. Ms. Olshan thanked the membership, as well.
PA events:
Maria Cognata discussed fundraising efforts and the need for
volunteers. Upcoming events are Picture Day on Sept. 29th,
and the Halloween Party. Tamar Ran and Jane Sanders, Halloween
co-chairs, described the annual party and made an appeal for
volunteers. Parents could sign up tonight to help.
