Dear Parents/Guardians,
Hope you had a wonderful vacation and wishing you all the very
best for 2010.
Safety:
As the weather outside is frightful please make sure that
your children are properly dressed with coats, gloves and hats.
NYC Public Schools rarely close for snow days but listen to 1010
wins if you have any doubts. Please do not park your car in
front of the building in the mornings while dropping off your
children.
Talented and Gifted Testing:
Testing will begin on Monday. We are starting with second
grade. You will receive a letter a day or two prior to your
child being tested. Only children who have registered on time
will be tested.
Open House:
There will be an open house for parents whose children are
zoned and who are interested in coming to PS 144 on Tuesday 26th
Jan. at 8:45 a.m. Please pass the word if you have a neighbor
whose child may be pre-k or kindergarten age.
Options for 6th grade for next year:
The Principal for the new school on Metro, Mr. Damon McCord,
and Mrs. Grant, the principal for Russell Sage, will be at the
Parents' Association Meeting on Monday Jan 25th at 7:00 p.m. The

Beginning at the intersection of 63rd Drive and Austin
Street, and proceeding east on Austin Street to Union Turnpike
(to include both sides of the street), then west on Union
Turnpike to Metropolitan Avenue, east on Metropolitan Avenue to
Park Lane South, south/west on Park Lane South to Forest Park
Drive, north on Forest Park Drive to Myrtle Avenue, east on
Myrtle Avenue to 80th Street, north on 80th Street to the LIRR
tracks (between 71st Avenue and 77th Avenue), west along the
LIRR tracks to 73rd Place, north on 73rd Place to Metropolitan
Avenue, east on Metropolitan Avenue to 74th Street, north on
74th Street to Juniper Valley Road, east on Juniper Valley Road
to 80th Street, north on 80th Street to Furmanville Avenue, east

Christmas Tree Recycling:
Turn your tree into mulch Saturday January 9th or Sunday,
January 10th at Forest Park Bandshell from 10AM - 2PM
