
Each year the P.A. spends an estimated
$65,000 to fund additional
classroom instruction, numerous residencies, agendas for the
students and additional supplies for the classrooms and
teachers. Every dollar we raise directly
benefits our children. Most of these funds come from
direct contributions by parents like you and the various
fundraising activities we sponsor throughout the year.
Currently we are hosting a matching
donation campaign. Through a generous donation from
an anonymous P.S. 144 family, we will receive
$1 for every $1 raised with a maximum matching amount of
$15,000. The campaign will continue through
December 2008. To date, we have
raised over $5000.

Checks and money orders should be made payable to the Parents’
Association of P.S. 144. Please do not send cash.
All donations are tax
deductible and are also eligible for corporate employee matching
programs.

The most important contribution
is your time. Volunteer
an hour to help at an event like the Holiday Boutique;
once a month, spend an hour and a half at your PA meeting;
spend one hour a week in the lunchroom assisting children. You
can also help by picking up an extra case of juice boxes or
water at the market during your regular food shopping; the
supplies can be used at PA events.
