The P.A. is YOUR school association and a forum to address parents’ concerns within the school. We are only as strong as our membership and a strong P.A. leads to a better education for our children.
Show your interest and support by attending the PA meetings at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd Monday of each month.
 

 A notice to Parents from the SLT concerning New Junk Food/Class Parties Guidelines

Together with school funds and grants, the Parents' Association provides funding for Cultural Arts Residencies for grades K-6:

1. The Queens Museum of Art's Art Access program for special needs children (self-contained classes)
2. 4th, 5th and 6th Grades: Visual Arts & Architecture Residencies with the Queens Museum of Art
3. Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Music with the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory of Music
4. 2nd Grade: Puppetry Residency with Marquis Studios
5. 3rd Grade: Guggenheim Museum Residency
6. 4th Grade: City Center/American Ballet Theatre Residency
7. 5th Grade: Ballroom Dancing Residency with American Ballroom Theatre
8. 6th Grade: City Center/Encores Broadway Residency & Broadway Mini-Residency


*Provide funding for Science Residencies for grades K-6.

*Enriched our school and community in the past school year with the following events:

1. Picture Day
2. Halloween Party
3. November Coat Drive
4. Holiday Boutique
5. Holiday Party
6. Auction
7. Career Day
8. Pasta Night
9. Olympic Day with physical education teachers Mr. Marino and Mr. Bruno 10. Carnival
11. Staff Appreciation Luncheon


*Administer the Parents' Association Afterschool Program

*Share Information through our:

1. Bi-monthly Newsletter: Backpack News

4. Monthly Calendar of upcoming events

*Provide:

1. Day Planner Agendas for every student for grades 2-6
2. $50 supplemental classroom supplies for every teacher
3. Book of the Month for every classroom
4. Computer supplies
5. Supplemental support for 6th Grade Graduation Expenses
6. Recess equipment for school

*Serve as a voice for parents at the following meetings:

1. Parents' Association Meetings held the 3rd Monday of every month
2. School Leadership Team Meetings
3. Principal Quarterly Meetings
4. Community Education Council Meetings
5. Presidents' Council Meetings
6. Office of Family Engagement Meetings
7. Safety Meetings
8. Parent-to-Parent Meetings
